The AISA Eagle is a high-performance, 244-channel hyperspectral imaging system operated by Galileo Group, providing a cost effective, end-to-end, airborne collection capability that acquires
research grade spectral imaging data for use in military, environmental and commercial remote sensing programs.
The breadbox-sized AISA Eagle sensor represents a generational improvement in cost, physical size, and ease of use over the larger
and more expensive hyperspectral imaging sensors utilized in the industry. The system has been used in a number of operational
scenarios, domestically and abroad, where it has achieved solid success in detecting and discriminating low-observable targets.
The sensor operates across the VIS/NIR portion of the spectrum (400-1,000 nm), resolving spectral differences as fine as 2-4 nm.
With around 1,000 pixels per scanning line, the system is able to image at sub-meter resolution. The Key system components include
the compact sensor head, GPS/IMU (inertial measurement unit), data acquisition computer, downwelling irradiance sensor (FODIS) and
post processing software. A single 24-28 VDC power input is required from the host aircraft. The entire sensor package with
peripherals is operated as a turnkey system and is readily installed in light aircraft.
